Hemophilia will begin to be treated with high technology

In Moldova, the scale of distribution of this plant is disturbed by the authorities and doctors.

KISHINEV, May 26 - Sputnik. Starting next week, representatives of the municipal enterprise “Spatii verzi” will begin a thorough check of the Chisinau parks, streets and courtyards for the presence of ambrosia. Last year, the government of Moldova included this poisonous plant in the banned list and developed a program to combat it.

Flowering late, but it does not reduce the danger

As a rule, ambrosia begins to bloom from mid-April until the end of September. This year spring in Moldova came late, so the sprouts are just beginning to break through. Allergists meanwhile warn that among the flowering herbs, ragweed is the most powerful allergen.

“This is the most difficult to remove weed. To completely remove it, you need to dig the root system four meters deep. This plant ripens very quickly and its seeds spread very quickly with the wind, ”said an allergist Suzanna Shield, MD, PhD.

As the interlocutor noted, the number of patients suffering from allergies in Moldova is increasing every year. And not least these are people who are victims of a dangerous weed. Most of all, young children and people over 45 suffer from allergies to ambrosia. The former have not yet fully formed immunity. In the second, the body’s resistance, on the contrary, begins to weaken.

Symptoms that need attention

Ambrosia allergy is akin to poplar fluff allergy. It does not give a temperature, despite the fact that its manifestations are similar to colds. “First of all, it is redness, tearing in the eyes, nasal congestion. A runny nose goes to colorless contents like water. There is also a sore throat right up to difficulty breathing, ”explained the allergist.

Prolonged allergies to ambrosia can lead to the development of asthma. Therefore, Suzanne Shield warned that when the first reaction appears, it is worthwhile to consult a doctor and not to look for medications in pharmacies on your own.

The profile specialist will send for testing, after which he will prescribe the exact treatment. For allergic people, doctors recommend avoiding places where ragweed grows, especially from 10.00 to 16.00, when the maximum concentration of pollen is noted. You should also exclude from your diet foods such as coffee, chocolate, honey, nuts, watermelons and melons. It is necessary to abandon the smoked meat and sweet water using dyes.
